Sure Shot Marine

Sure Shot Marine is a mobile marine electrical diagnostics and repair service based in Alameda, serving the San Francisco Bay Area. The business is named after my personal vessel, the S/V Sure Shot, a 1990 Ericson 32-200. I've been troubleshooting marine electrical systems since 1995 and have been working in the Bay Area since 2012.

I started as a Navy avionics technician, then spent years commissioning three-phase UPS and energy storage systems in the field before earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Francisco State University. I served as a Coast Guard electronics technician on seagoing cutters, and I currently commission utility-scale battery storage systems for Tesla alongside this work. I do this because I enjoy it. Finding the actual cause of a problem and fixing it right is satisfying, and I haven't gotten tired of it yet. I also like handing a boat back to an owner who understands a little bit more about their systems. When you trust your boat, you use it. That's the part I care about. Too many good boats sit at the dock because the owner stopped trusting the wiring, and most of the time the fix isn't even that bad.
